In a long line of album covers, Debut pictures Bjork in a mohair sweater shot in black in white. Debut is the album where it all began, and the Bjork Retrospective currently installed at MoMa is a documentation of her many costume changes. Top-knotted braids soon followed mohair, and the latest music video from the Icelandic pop icon features the singer stumbling through volcanic rock and ash dressed in iridescent insect wings. As Bjork disappears into the horizon line of the landscape, the sewn wings alight and drop back into place on her dress, reminding of her past lives as a cyber geisha and a black headed swan.
