My attention was drawn to a red brick window full of white cardboard signs while passing through lower Manhattan. The window reminded of a red hat against white-blond hair, of red lipstick, and brought to mind the red stripe on classic piece of Gucci luggage. That vertical fabric stripe has never gone out of fashion, the red stripe on a graphic fabric synonymous with the locked-Gs monogram. Red accent marks draw the eye, no matter how many letters.
